Now that the University of Saskatchewan has closed the campus at Emma Lake and banished the artists and their history (supposedly for 3 years but possibly forever), there is a melancholy feel to the whole area. So much is changing: a paved road, green slime choking the sloughs, McMansions popping up, forest cleared for townhouses. I just want to hold on to the past. Not possible.
